PURPOSE GIVEN IS A PURPOSE WORTH LIVIN’ -See No Evil

CHAPTER 5

PURPOSE GIVEN IS A PURPOSE WORTH LIVIN’

These days there’s a mad rush to be purpose driven and I whole heartedly agree, it is better to be purpose driven than going in reverse or stuck in neutral. However, why would I be content to be just purpose driven and not living my life’s purpose on purpose? I believe the real reason most people are okay with being just purpose driven is because they don’t know how to identify their real purpose for existing or what purpose means when it relates to individuals. If you’re still reading this article, this is the day that was created for “you” to begin living your life with a purpose on purpose. You ran into this topic for a reason.

Let’s continue exploring this fact. The (buzz) word purpose can be substituted for a number of words, some of which could be reason, intention, intent, use, idea, objective, aim, function or determination. In my opinion, a purpose is the reason why you exist to fulfill a specific task that only you can fulfill at a specific time and season here on the earth. A purpose should not, but often times are confused with a person’s calling. Purpose and calling are different. A calling is a particular business, occupation, profession or trade. Once again, purpose is your intended reason for being. Most people live out their lives fulfilling their calling, not their purpose. They have prepared themselves for a chosen field or profession. Since they do not know their purpose, they work in that field unhappy for many years and ultimately, just retire. They never venture out to find out what makes them happy. I’ve finally mentioned   the operative word—HAPPY, not just purpose!

Although happiness is evident when you are fulfilling your purpose, there are several other key VIRTUES that will accompany happiness. First, how do we begin to find what our purpose is in life? Why are we here? Like everything   else in life, finding your purpose, begins with the finding and the understanding of who you are. Understanding one’s self is a process that most people neglect or choose not to go through. Understanding who you are as well as self-examination and evaluation is the beginning of identifying your purpose. It is important you get a mental picture of what you look like living your purpose now. I believe one of the most powerful forces in the universe is love and another is our ability to choose our own thoughts. A single action is derived from a thought. One of my favorite sayings is, “The me I see, is the me I’ll be.” In other words, I must begin to see myself as I want to be and not as I am. Once we can mentally see ourselves living our purpose, those very images will begin to draw the desired thought patters and behaviors into our life which will produce what we desire. I like to share this informative awareness of how much power our senses have, in particular our eyes.

So, determining to change your way of thinking about yourself is paramount if you want to find your purpose. Another important area for identifying your purpose is discovering the spiritual part of you. You must become spiritually centered and develop a spiritual relationship with God. Some people don’t believe that there is a God, but just because the belief exists, does not mean that the belief is truth and nor does it mean that God does not exist. Research has suggested that people who have engaged and nurtured a personal relationship with God live healthier, happier, successful and longer lives than those who do not. It is out of the spiritual you that you will determine and establish your moral and value system, your own beliefs of right and wrong and “how” you live your life according to those very beliefs without compromise. As you continue on the path to living your purpose, don’t forget to mentally see yourself purposely living.

You will see that at this point of discovery, you will start to identify your passion, if you don’t already know it by now. What is it that gives you a burning desire to fulfill or complete in life? If you are driven with passion to do certain things and you are really focused on these things as well as get great fulfillment and enjoyment in doing them, then you may have identified your purpose. However, most have not arrived to this place unless they understand the importance of relationships and serving others.

Along with developing relationships and serving others, you must also master the art of effective communications and setting boundaries. Learning how to effectively communicate in all of your relationships will enable you to successfully set boundaries. Setting boundaries will bring and give you the respect you need to have long, successful and lasting relationships.  These same boundaries will also help you in accepting and respecting the boundaries of others.

Once you are confident in your relationships with boundaries, you are now ready to re-evaluate and establish your vision(s). Your vision can be the same as a purpose, but try looking at it as an outline of achievements to your path. Let your vision be nothing more than categories and sub-categories of the outline in which you have created. With this same outline, you can road map your success of accomplishing your vision step by step.

Finally, finding your purpose in life is not a secret, nor is it a complicated task.  It does however require a commitment and dedication on your part to transform yourself from the inside out from a purpose given into a life with a purpose that you’re livin’.

Are you your mind? – See No Evil

Have you ever wondered who you are? Are you the body you see in the mirror every day? Of course you’re not. Your body is constantly changing and you know as well as I do, it’s different now than it was ten or twenty years ago. According to some scientists, cells in our bodies are constantly replaced by new ones and most of them agree that every seven years we have a completely new body.  Not even one single cell is the same.  I remember when I was a teenager, my mom used to brag to my family and friends that I have beautiful hands and that I should be a hand model.  Sadly, that’s not the case now.  I have no idea who switched out my hands or even when the aging happened.

Most people feel that they are not their bodies. When my mom passed away, the emergency room doctor told us, “your mother has already left this earth.” So, what has left? Her body was still there. How did she leave this earth? As I saw her body on the table, I knew she wasn’t there anymore. I imagined her looking down at us and her body.  The person I saw laying on the table did not look like the sleeping woman in the recovery room after a surgery or procedure. The look was very different.

The Temptation of the Critical Voice. “Fear No Evil”

The Temptation of the Critical Voice

Each of us has an inner critic. There is no way to grow up in our society without having developed this inner critical voice which comes from parents, teachers, peers, the media, and from our own conclusions. It’s your ego.

The Chicken or the Egg? “Speak No Evil”

THE CHICKEN OR THE EGG?

Inspiration…what is it?

“Which comes first, the chicken or the egg?” No matter how this topic is tackled, the question remains a mystery. “Do you need to be inspired to aspire or do you need an aspiration to get inspired?”

Others may argue that in order to have a strong desire to achieve something, you must be inspired. On the other hand, some argue that for you to be inspired, you may need to aspire first. Inspiration or aspiration? The chicken, or the egg?

There is no definite answer. Concerning inspiration vs. aspiration, the best course of action is to discover how to get people inspired, rather than focus on which is the right answer. For some people, inspiration helps them stay motivated and become an achiever.  You are probably thinking, what does this have to do with speak no evil? Read on.

So, how do people get inspired?

The feeling of frustration forces some to seek inspiration. Some need to experience unpleasant circumstances to trigger an inspiration. This path may not be at all pleasant. But who says that the road to greater achievement is always smooth sailing? Inspiration does cause us to mentally aspire a dream to come true, doesn’t it?

Inspiration, Font, Flash Of Genius

Take for instance the case of an average earner. He just earns enough to make a family survive. On his way to work, he always passes a rundown neighborhood and knows that these people barely have three square meals a day, hardly having anything to keep them warm on a cold night, practically living in a roofless shack with paper boards as walls. He wants to help but can’t.

Depression, Depressed, ForlornHe feels helpless for he can’t do anything to alleviate their condition. This feeling of helplessness urged him to promise himself that his family will never experience extreme poverty. This feeling of frustration inspired him to aspire for a better life for himself and for his family. His fear that his family might end up like one of the economically challenged people makes him determined to do something about improving his financial stability.  So this inspiration helped him aspire a mental thought to affirm the better life for himself and his family. Are you getting the idea of what this has to do with                                                 speak no evil yet?

Someone who is successful can be an effective source of inspiration. People tend to look up to somebody who has reached the top. They wonder how it is to be like their idol, so they set themselves on a course headed in their idol’s direction. They study their idol’s past and how he was able to overcome all adversities.  Again, inspire to aspire to affirm. Affirm the good in your life. Not the evil.

Atomic Bomb, Leave, Alone, Fear, War, Refugees, Pain

People who wish to be inspired, associate with successful people. Successful people have big ambitions. Being ambitious and dreaming big dreams can keep the inspiration alive. Being ambitious is actually good as long as you do not step on other people’s toes that provides inspiration to fellow-men.

A strong desire can trigger people to get inspired and aspire for it. Again, stay within the confines of good fellowship, not hurting anyone along the way. Some people desire popularity. They aspire to be well-known in society. They set their sights higher and aim to be recognized and respected. Inspire to aspire to affirm to eventually love what we have become.  Affirm the love.

Love, Passion, Kiss, SilhouetteLove is a strong motivator. There was once a man who pursued his love interest. He was able to get married to the woman of his dreams. His love for his wife motivated him to do his best in his job to provide for his growing family. Love provided the spark and nurtured his dreams to aspire for the best that life has to offer for him and his family. Inspire to aspire to affirm to love life.

Many sources of inspiration can help you in achieving success in life. Arguing about whichever comes first – whether inspiration or aspiration – is not one of them. The important thing is to find your true source of inspiration and to remain focused in the achievement of your goals.  Go for what you love, the bottom line.  Some people find inspiration in the love of God. The affirmations they use is the same as praying with positivity.

The 6 components of vision “See No Evil”

The 6 Components of Vision

First, let’s talk about this word “dream” that you have heard so much about and how it fits into vision. While a dream is an important part of the puzzle, it is just the beginning. Dreams open up your imagination and ability for your mind to “see” what it is that you can conceive for your life.

Are you stuck? Consider changing your focus! “See No Evil”

If you sometimes feel as though you’re caught in life’s quicksand, you have a lot of company.

Anything is Possible “See No Evil”

Anything is Possible

The other day I was reading a very interesting article concerning a shark attack that occurred way back in 1916. It played off along the North East coast of the U.S. and concerned a great white shark, that had been had been terrorizing the New Jersey beaches. Now everybody knows and accepts that a shark is a creature of the sea and needs salty water to survive. Therefore, nobody thought that a shark may attack them in freshwater, but that is exactly what happened later that year.

This particular shark remained close to the shore and eventually swam up a river stream around Raritan Bay, attacking a couple of bathers upstream.

Shortly before the attacks occurred, a retired Sea captain, by the name of Thomas Cottrell – “JAWS STORY” saw this shark swimming upstream while crossing a bridge. He couldn’t believe his eyes, but nevertheless got into his boat and raised the alarm. Not surprisingly nobody believed him. “A shark in a river? C’mon, get real, it’s not possible.”

But you know what? As incredible as it seemed there was a shark in the river and all those who didn’t heed the warnings were in danger of being attacked.

Eventually this shark killed two people. The first victim was a teenager who may or may not have heard Cottrell’s warning. Shortly after this attack another man jumped in the water to look for the victim, even though he was told there is a shark in the water. He too was attacked and died from a severe loss of blood.

While reading this I couldn’t help thinking about September 11 and see the parallels between these two stories.

When asked by the U.S. Congress and the media, why “clues” which should have been picked up were disregarded, the heads of the FBI and CIA as well as members of the Bush administration replied, “We didn’t think they would use airplanes as missiles.”

Had the FBI and CIA believed that something like what happened on 9/11 was possible they might have put measures into place which would likely have prevented this from happening. But they didn’t, even though the hijackers left dozens of “clues.”

Similarly, if the swimmers at the US East Coast had believed Captain Cottrell when he told them there was a shark in the river, chances are that nobody would have been killed by this shark on that day.

But because they believed it is “impossible” for a shark to be found in freshwater they disregarded the warning altogether, just as the US law enforcement agencies did, resulting in many paying with their lives.

On the other hand, there are human beings who overcame extraordinary odds and accomplished great feats. Every day we hear stories of people who were told by the so-called “experts” they didn’t have what it took, yet made it regardless.

The lesson here is that anything is possible, both the good and the bad. By believing or not believing in something doesn’t mean you will not be affected by whatever happens. But it means that based on what you believe, you may take some action which may save you from something terrible or may get you out of a terrible situation.

There are many of us who are in terrible situations, including poverty, unhappiness, debt, etc. Those of us who have changed their situation did it because they believed they could make it.

Those who don’t obviously don’t believe that they can change their situation otherwise they would have done something about it, right?

How many opportunities have you missed just because you thought it wouldn’t work or wasn’t possible? Just think what you could do if you believed that you could do anything, even realize your dreams?  What great talent do you have which you have done nothing about, because you probably believed you can’t do it.

I hope to have shown you through this short story that anything is possible and that by just believing, “I Can,” your battle is already half-won.

Disclaimer: This story from my book is in no way a political statement. I am just bringing to light the possibilities are always there.  Always be aware of the possibilities of anything is possible.  Available April 2016!

Can you please help a fellow blogger out?

Thank you all so much for re-following me to my new site and thanks for the patience of inheriting a few broken links because of my move. I’m a total newbie on this as well.  As much as I love the bells and whistles this new self hosting site has, I am still having an issue on the comment(s) transfer from the WordPress site to this new site. The issue I have is NONE. None I tell you! I don’t have any comments on this site. NADA! That’s how frustrated I got, but I have an idea. Read on….

When I first transferred my WordPress site to this self hosting blog, I kept the old site open..just in case I made a mistake.  The problem I first had, was when I first posted on my new site.  The post came out on my WordPress site and on my new hosting site, but I only saw all the “new” subscribers, comments and likes coming in on my old site, but not on my new one. After researching, calling and chatting, I figured out I hadn’t pointed something, something to my new site.  Long story short, I pointed, I deleted, I lost all my subscribers, likes and any new comments I had forever.

So, my plan is….can you please help a fellow blogger out?? A comment of a “hi” or any type of banter would be very much appreciated.  I will even send you my book I wasn’t originally intending to give away as a “thank you.”  IF YOU “LIKE” THIS BLOG, THAN THAT MEANS YOU MADE A COMMENT. I think that’s the only way I can find out.

On my next post, I will update if this was successful or not.  If not, I will have to put on my techie hat and try again. This self-hosting is a challenge.
