Can you please help a fellow blogger out?

Can you please help a fellow blogger out?

Thank you all so much for re-following me to my new site and thanks for the patience of inheriting a few broken links because of my move. I’m a total newbie on this as well.  As much as I love the bells and whistles this new self hosting site has, I am still having an issue on the comment(s) transfer from the WordPress site to this new site. The issue I have is NONE. None I tell you! I don’t have any comments on this site. NADA! That’s how frustrated I got, but I have an idea. Read on….

When I first transferred my WordPress site to this self hosting blog, I kept the old site open..just in case I made a mistake.  The problem I first had, was when I first posted on my new site.  The post came out on my WordPress site and on my new hosting site, but I only saw all the “new” subscribers, comments and likes coming in on my old site, but not on my new one. After researching, calling and chatting, I figured out I hadn’t pointed something, something to my new site.  Long story short, I pointed, I deleted, I lost all my subscribers, likes and any new comments I had forever.

So, my plan is….can you please help a fellow blogger out?? A comment of a “hi” or any type of banter would be very much appreciated.  I will even send you my book I wasn’t originally intending to give away as a “thank you.”  IF YOU “LIKE” THIS BLOG, THAN THAT MEANS YOU MADE A COMMENT. I think that’s the only way I can find out.

On my next post, I will update if this was successful or not.  If not, I will have to put on my techie hat and try again. This self-hosting is a challenge.

Thank you.

By the way…that picture was not me on the featured image. ♥

Thanks for the follow and I’m glad to comment here; I hope everything is straightened out with your changes (I despise figuring out technology – just love it when it works!)

Well, I got here! Thank you for dropping in upon and for following my blog. I hereby reciprocate. As to the self-hosting thing, I would love to help in other ways, but I am computer literate only in words less than three syllables so I shall just have to wish you luck. What I see here looks better than all right to me!

I have done the self hosting thing and I don’t think I would do that again. I am perfectly happy to let someone do all the backend stuff for me. All I want to do is create and focus on connecting with people through blogging. I hope your experience with self-hosting will be awesome my friend.

Me too. It is time consuming and every day I learn something new. Thanks for the well wishes. I hope the blog turns out to be visually appealing and user friendly. 🙂

Blynng, You are looking good in your new home here!!!!! I’m wondering what motivated you to make the change with all the bother I am reading above! Phil from http://excuseusforliving.com/

Hi Phil. I’m Brenda. I really like the tons of plug-ins and I plan on posting my 4 new books on here instead of amazon. The possibilities seem endless here. More options. Thanks for asking.

Looks like you’re having a whole lot of computer frustration fun. I’m relatively new to blogging (on WordPress) and can’t help even myself there! Two years, still learning baby steps. Not that I’ve worked that hard at it – blogging (I typed “bloogging” – wonder if that means anything) is a low-end avocation for me at the moment. Anyway, best of luck and all that. Now following you here…

I started blogging in Late July of 2015. i think i need one more thing figured out to get it back to where it was. This is frustrating, but when i figure it out….what an accomplishment. Yeah, blogging sounds so easy, it’s really not. 🙂 thanks for the good luck wishes. keep in touch.

At least I can comment to this one and I will try the more recent one:)

I do not know what you’ve done wrong to your site, but in any case, at the time I gave a commentary, I could suddenly log in to your administration panel.
This can be an advantage for U
If you ever look at my blog and let me know what you widgets that I have made will also appeal to you, then I will also apply to Your Blog (since I can still login).
I will certainly not abuse the fact that I can login to your blog, I definitely will not delete any texts or whatever.
just put in the things you ask me.
with kind regards

Susbcribed to your new blog and able to follow your articles through wordpress reader, don’t see much problem here.

Ryan StonePosted on  10:04 pm - Jan 22, 2016

Hiya! I’m not sure if your settings are correct – on my iPad there was no way to like or comment without first leaving the WP reader, opening your site in Safari and then logging into your blog (even though I was already logged in to WP). I haven’t had to do that on any other sites before – I can always like and comment directly from the browser… If you are still suffering from a lack of likes/comments I’d imagine that is why. I’m not tech savvy enough to be able to offer a solution, sorry, although I do remember seeing something in settings once about enabling likes and comments on your posts…hope that helps 😀

    Blynng15Posted on  10:16 pm - Jan 22, 2016

Thank you and I will try it. I am not tech savvy either, but I know I can figure out eventually. However, it’s been 2 weekends in a row and I am almost there. The likes and shares I figured it out, but since you commented via this blog, I think I’ve got it. Can you please send me your email so I can send you my free book? I won’t post your email. Do you have wordpress.org with a host? Thank you so much for the comment. Brenda
